Israel
To write about Israel will never do it justice. The lists and lists I’ve compiled (and keep editing) of things to do and see in this TINY country are monstrous. Although I have the privilege of visiting multiple times per year, I always feel I’ve forgotten to do something amazing which only leaves me yearning to return and excited to plan your trip to my new favorite spots!
Israel is a microcosm of the world. She is truly a land of immigrants. Israel, the land, means so much to so many people and it’s no wonder. Let’s start with religion- There is something central here for so many religions. The landmarks, the holy sites, the burial places of important figures and museums filled with artifacts dating back to the beginning of them all.
Speaking of museums, the only thing more impressive than the number of museums of every kind, is the award winning quality of the collections held in them.
A few years ago, for so many reasons, my family and I decided to pick up and move to this amazing country for just one year. The stars aligned and we were able to go, putting a few things on hold and taking the time to focus on family and this land we feel so connected to. As the year ended, it was a very hard decision to come back to live in the States. In Israel, the entire country feels the Jewish Holidays, people hike, swim in lakes and springs, visit spa retreats by the Dead Sea and escape to the desert for a moment to disconnect from the modern and reconnect with the past. This is where vineyards hold secrets from the past, while winning awards in the present. Spices tell stories of migration, struggle and perseverance. Artisans are celebrated, while technology, agriculture and medicine surpass any expectation there may have been for this once dry land. The fruits and vegetables burst with flavor, the flowers bloom and wildlife abound. Modern cities spring up in the midst of carefully preserved archaeological sites.
Every season has new flowers that bloom, cultural events that can’t be missed and unbeatable adventures to be had. I can’t wait to help you plan your first or next adventure to this incredible land.
